Victoria Silvstedt's father was the captain of the local ski team, and she started alpine skiing at the age of five. A gifted athlete, Victoria Silvstedt became a world-class member of the Swedish National Ski Team, ranking as high as fourth among her future Olympian teammates in the Super Giant Slalom during a Swedish Junior Championship. Once, Victoria Silvstedt also competed against Pernilla Wiberg, losing to her by one and half seconds. However, a shoulder accident in the middle of a skiing competition prematurely ended Victoria Silvstedt's Olympic dreams at the age of 16.
